Join an incredible opportunity Our client is looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to become part of their team at a residential children's home located in Leiston, close to the stunning Suffolk Coast. Your main role will involve creating a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for children aged 9-17 who face various challenges. The home can accommodate up to 4 children and focuses on delivering personalized care to enhance their growth and well-being.

Role Overview: As a Waking Night Support Worker, your presence during the night is crucial for ensuring the safety and welfare of the children. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Monitor the children carefully
  • Handle any incidents that may occur
  • Provide a reassuring presence throughout the night

You'll follow a 4 on 4 off rota to maintain consistency and reliability within the home environment.

Hours: 4 on 4 off rolling rota, 22:30 - 08:30

Pay Rate: £12.87 per hour (may vary based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure nighttime safety and security of the children
  • Regularly check on each child and accurately document observations
  • Offer emotional support to children in need
  • Maintain a calm and secure environment
  • Handle administrative tasks efficiently
  • Communicate well with daytime staff for consistent care
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions
  • Lead the night shift effectively

Requirements:

  • Education: Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in working with children and young people, or willingness to obtain
  • Experience: Prior experience in a residential childcare setting preferable
  • Skills: Strong observational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment: Flexible to work night shifts
  • Driving Licence: Preferred but not mandatory
