We're looking for a
Transport Planner to join our friendly team at Tunstead in Buxton.

Role Responsibility:

In the role of
Transport Planner you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising and coordinating on a daily basis with our customers, to deliver a high levels of service, working closely with our drivers, third party transport contractors and operational staff.
  • Order taking and cement delivery management to a wide range of customers within the region
  • Efficient scheduling of own fleet vehicles, maximising driver hours availability, to meet agreed KPI targets, whilst maintaining legal and operational compliance.
  • Effective allocation of orders to third party transport partners
  • CPC (desirable but can be trained)
  • IOSH Safety training (desirable but can be trained)
  • Applicants should be able to work independently and make day to day decisions regarding the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience of SAP and transport routing tools
  • Possess a confident telephone manner with an outgoing personality
  • Effective decision making skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Be responsive to the needs of our customers, possess interpersonal skills and be able to work with minimum supervision whilst being a team player.
