Nursery Practitioner

41.25 hours per week (Monday - Friday) - We would consider part time.

Salary £8.60-£11.94 per hr depending on qualifications and experience

Woodberry Fawley Day Nursery are looking for a Nursery Practitioner to join their team in their 3-4 years old room and also their 0-2's room

About us:


We are situated close to the New Forest as well as being next door to an old golf course and recreation ground which provides lovely scenic walks.

We also have two beaches around a 10 minute drive away for you to enjoy on your lunch breaks if you wished to do so.

We are a very welcoming and friendly staff team who like to celebrate each others achievements.

Each month we have an employee of the month, Which the staff team and parents nominate who they think it should be.

There is an open door policy for staff to be able to come and see the manager if they want to talk about any concerns or worries.


We are on the number 9 bus route with easy access to the bus stops for communiting the nursery, aswell as being able to provide off road parking for staff that drive.


Here at Woodberry Fawley, we pride ourselves on putting the needs of the children first, and to give them the best start in life as possible.

We are a purpose-built building with three different age groups. We have our own sensory room and a very spacious outside area that wraps around the building. We also have a fish pond which the children enjoy having supervised visits to.

I have found no issues and feel they are extremely attentive to individual children's needs and communication and updates through the app are brilliant also getting a glimpse into my daughter's day when she's there. Fun activities for the children and a great outdoor space. I feel my daughter has thrived at Woodberry and will be sad for her to leave for school in September but feel confident she will be ready. Nursery Practitioner main duties and responsibilities:

Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.

Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.

Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.


Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.


Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.


Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.

Requirements and skills:

Full and relevant Level 2/ Level 3 childcare qualification - essential

Fluent in written and spoken English - essential

Over 1 year's experience of working in Early Years - desirable

Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
