Looking for a Back End Engineer to be part of our team. In an Agile setting, you will analyze, develop, and craft solutions for our application software. Your role will involve technical design, coding with test automation, support, and documentation of software application changes. Through continuous integration, development, and testing, you'll ensure top-notch code delivery. Proactively managing and escalating risks and customer-related issues is essential in your day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates solutions for high-impact technology and business priorities
  • Proficient in various contexts including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains, a go-to person for many
  • Participates in strategic technology decisions and understands their impact on Discover
  • Identifies and tackles issues based on intuition and multi-domain experience proactively
  • Provides guidance to technology communities at Discover

Minimum Qualifications

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or similar
  • For internal applicants: must have a technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Knowledge of Big Data Frameworks such as Spark
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms, specifically AWS
  • Proficiency in Java and Python
  • Automation experience
