We have a great opportunity to join our education team as an Maths Tutor at Novus, our prison education provider at
HMP High Down, offered on a permanent, part-time (fractional) basis working 8 hrs per week
(Potential more hours in future).**For more than two decades, Novus has been delivering education, training and employment opportunities to adults and young people in UK prisons.
Over the years we have built a reputation as an innovator in the fight to reduce re-offending rates by transforming people's lives through learning and skills.
The vision for the Education, Skills and Work provision at HMP Wormwood Scrubs is to ensure that Prisoners in our care realize their full potential through Education, Skills and Work.
What the role entails
As a Maths Tutor, you will develop and deliver high-quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus policies and procedure, supporting learners and colleagues alike to ensure the best outcome for all who work within our sector.
What we need from you
To be successful in the role of Maths Tutor, you will need:
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Ideally, you will want to be a part of a team which has at its core a focus on improving lives and enabling and equipping learners to develop, grow and be equipped for a life of work and success.
You'll be a self-starter with a passion to learn and grow yourself and will bring passion, dedication and positivity to your new role.
