One of these key initiatives is the Future BBC Programme.

The Portfolio Planner role sits within the Transformation Office and works closely with some of the most senior colleagues across the organisation to plan, manage and support some of our most critical and exciting projects and programmes.

You will be partnering with colleagues right across the organisation, but especially within the key content divisions of Content, News and Nations as well as across the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Group.

Produce regular variations of the plan to enable scenario planning and to inform decision-making for senior boards;

Lead and facilitate planning workshops and other engagements to gain in-depth understanding of the overall plan and constituent parts, enabling you to explain and communicate complex issues to non-specialists verbally and in writing;

Analyse and update the plan through regular sessions with various existing and emerging programmes and enabling functions to ensure it is credible and viable;

Work closely with the Strategy and Transformation teams to link key portfolio milestones to benefits profiles and capture and manage risks, issues and all this information is regularly and accurately reported.

Collaborate and support programmes in the development of their plans and data to enable consistent planning best practice across the portfolio as a whole;

Extensive experience of successful portfolio planning, scheduling and management, in complex delivery environments; including strong working knowledge of project, programme or portfolio management software (e.g. MS Project, Project online, ).

Strong skills in analysing data and presenting large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information in a concise and meaningful way that supports decision-making.

Proven capability in building and maintaining productive stakeholder relationships with a wide range of people, inside and outside the organisation.

Ability to balance long-term strategic priorities against short-term demands, including the ability to work independently, take responsibility for areas of work and manage competing priorities, often in a pressured environment.
