An amazing opportunity is available to be a Learning Support Assistant for a fantastic SEN school in Thatcham. They are searching for a creative and motivated individual to assist the class teacher in supporting students with additional needs. If you have a passion for helping young people and want to make a difference, this role is perfect for you.
- Support the class teacher and provide extra help to students
- Work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm
- Engage with students with various additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and more
To excel in this role, you should be kind, friendly, and positive, with a genuine interest in assisting children with SEN. Your responsibilities will include shadowing the teacher, offering 1:1 and group support, and helping students improve their social and communication skills.
The school focuses on enhancing students' life skills through activities like cooking, arts and crafts, sports, swimming, and horse riding. If you have prior experience working with individuals with additional needs, whether personally or professionally, it will be advantageous. This could be from roles like tutoring, mentoring, or working in a nursery or sports environment.
A degree or Level 3 qualification would be beneficial, but most importantly, a positive attitude and enthusiasm are key to succeeding in this role.
