JOB SUMMARY

The YARD/LOADER OPERATOR at the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant is responsible for efficiently operating a front-end loader to ensure continuous production in a safe manner. This role includes daily equipment maintenance, learning loader operations specific to an RMC plant, and performing cleaning tasks for seamless operations. The operator will also handle other heavy equipment and assist in construction-related duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SAFE OPERATIONS: Operate the loader and heavy machinery safely, following all safety protocols.
  • PRODUCTION OPERATIONS: Keep the RMC plant stocked with materials efficiently, depending on production needs.
  • MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY CHECKS: Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance for operational efficiency.
  • COMMUNICATIONS: Maintain communication with the batch office using 2-way radios or hand signals.
  • LEARNING AND ADAPTING: Understand and adapt to loader operations in the RMC plant environment.
  • ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING: Regularly clean and maintain the loader and RMC plant using hand tools.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS: Gain insight into sand, gravel plant operations, and RMC plant maintenance.
  • BLOCK FORM OPERATIONS: Handle block form processes like set up, pouring, and inventory management.
  • INVENTORY ASSISTANCE: Support monthly inventory checks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of walking, sitting, lifting, and climbing extensively, able to lift/carry 50 pounds.
  • FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, as needed.
  • SAFETY CULTURE: Uphold a strong safety culture.
  • EXPOSURE TO EXTREME CONDITIONS: Be prepared for outdoor work in extreme weather and noise conditions.
  • PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Use proper PPE during work.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Effective communication skills around heavy equipment.
  • PHYSICAL ABILITY: Capable of controlling and operating equipment.
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE: Pass required health checks and screenings.
  • FLEXIBILITY IN TASKS: Ready to take on additional tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience with front-end loader operations in an RMC plant setting is preferred.

Must hold a valid Texas Driver's License.
