The Malthouse Surgery is a long established large teaching GP Practice, rated 'GOOD' in all categories by CQC.

The Surgery is located in the centre of Abingdon and delivers a primary health care service to 15,500 patients, through our friendly, professional and experienced GP, nursing and administrative teams.

The Practice team extends to additional HCPs offering a comprehensive list of clinical services available.

We are a looking to recruit receptionists/call-handlers to cover the afternoon core business hours up to 7pm on weekdays.

This is a busy and at times challenging job.

The role is varied and you will be assisting patients at the front desk, booking appointments, dealing with hospital referrals, answering the phones, changing or cancelling patients' appointments, supporting the GPs administratively, along with general office duties.


We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, customer focused applicant, you will need to demonstrate a genuine desire to offer outstanding patient communication.

This will be face to face contact, phone work and written.

Reception is the window to the surgery
- so a pleasant, welcoming manner is essential.

Previous experience of EMIS would be advantageous
