About the Role:

nWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner (Social Worker) to join our dynamic Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

This is a locum role offering £33.30 per hour for 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults by working collaboratively with multiple agencies.


Key Responsibilities:

nAssessment and Triage:
Conduct timely and thorough assessments of referrals, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults

nCollaboration:
Work closely with professionals from various agencies including police, health services, education, and housing to share information and make informed decisions

nCase Management:
Manage a caseload of complex cases, providing expert advice and support to less experienced staff

nSafeguarding:
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place to protect those at risk

nReporting:
Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports for multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings

nSupervision:
Provide supervision and mentorship to junior social workers, supporting their professional development and practice

nCrisis Intervention:
Respond to emergency situations with swift and effective action to safeguard individuals in immediate danger

nPolicy and Practice:


Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the MASH.


Qualifications and Experience:

nEssential:nDegree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.nRegistration with Social Work England.nSignificant experience in a social work role, with a strong focus on safeguarding.nProven ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure.nExcellent communication, assessment, and analytical skills.nIn-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding vulnerable adults.


nDesirable:
nPrevious experience in a MASH or duty and assessment environment.nSupervisory or management experience.

nStrong decision-making skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.nHigh level of empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence.nAbility to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.nCommitment to continuous professional development and improving practice standards.
