Hunter Mason are currently searching for a Construction Manager. This role will entail taking responsibility for managing the Company's Business on a project assigned basis, within the

framework of Company Policy and Procedures. To produce maximum profiles and satisfied

Your new role as a Construction Manager

  • As a Construction Manager your responsibilities will include the following:_
Efficiently managing the day to day operation on construction site and to deliver the

project to the specified cost, time, quality and safety constraints.

Management of the subcontractor and specialist suppliers including client contractors

with support from the Project Manager, QS and Design Team as required.

Carry out construction programming and planning for both the project completion and the

weeks ahead.

Hold and chair progress meetings with subcontractors representing the company's

contractual interests.

Administer the site in accordance with both main and subcontracts including the writing

and issuing of contractual letters and notices as directed by the Construction Manager.

Maintain a comprehensive site diary.

Conduct Toolbox Talks as directed by the Construction Manager.

Coordinate Subcontractors on-site to ensure that they work efficiently

Monitor the adherence of subcontractors for compliance to site safety standards in

accordance with the Construction Phase Health, legislation, good practice and Safety

Have a strong understanding of the CDM regulations, Health and safety legislation,

statute and codes of practice and manage the works in accordance with said regulations

and legislation.

Assist in carrying out competency assessments of the work force

Contribute to the prequalification exercise of contractors.

Ensure safe systems of work are monitored and maintained including coordination with

client activities and local rules.

Attend site safety meetings.

Carry out inductions

Carry out or support the Health & Safety Manager with site audits and inspections,

identify issues and put remedial plans in place.

Assist in accident investigations and implement recommendations.

Implement a site quality control system in accordance with the project acceptance

Carry out inspections, record and monitor close out of all issues. Issue contractual notice

as required to appropriate parties to allow the project to progress to the specified criteria.

Chair and formally minute quality and progress meetings with the subcontractors.

In conjunction with the Commercial Manager/Project Surveyor, administer the

subcontract to guard the company's contractual position.

Attend and minute regular subcontract meetings.

Support the Project Surveyor with valuation as appropriate.

Understand the scope of work and control changes on site involving the Project

Manager, Project Surveyor and designer as required on entitlement and value.

Draft Instructions for approval by Project Manager.

Assist the Project Manager and Project Surveyor with claims resolution.

Co-ordinate between the designers and the sub-contractors in a timely manner to

achieve the project goals.

Have an understanding of details and design principles in order to contribute to

buildability in design meetings and to plan the efficient involvement of the design team

on site issues.

Achieve a good understanding of the commissioning and validation process in order to

coordinate and prioritise site work with these activities.

Represent the project when visited by building control, planning authority, statutory and

regulatory authorities.
