Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is the major teaching hospital for the North East of Scotland. The Department of Dermatology provides tertiary services for the NHS Grampian Region.

The Department of Dermatology offers a comprehensive Dermatology Service for outpatient and in-patient care including day treatments.

The services include General Adult and Paediatric Dermatology, Patch Testing, Phototherapy, Photodynamic treatment, Hyperhidrosis Clinics, Laser Service for Medical Dermatology, Skin Cancer Clinics and Skin Cancer Surgery.

The department also has access to Mohs surgery as a part of the North of the Scotland Mohs surgery network.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of 6 NHS Consultants, and specialist nursing support.


Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.


Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.

Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.

Aberdeen is well known for its superb quality of life and enjoys first class amenities, housing and schools.

There are excellent connections with other British cities and the continent, flying time to London is one hour with more than 20 daily flights - and road and rail links to all points north and south are easily accessible.

Aberdeenshire includes some of the most spectacular countryside in Europe with Royal Deeside and the Cairngorm Mountain National Park and a wide range of outdoor pursuits within easy reach or commute of the city.
