- Responsible for trading, underwriting, and service activities to provide consistent quality service to customers and deliver profitable results for the company.
- Develop strong business relationships with new and existing brokers.
- Underwrite commercial combined/SME risks within the Broker Business team by quoting new business and underwriting existing business.
- Manage and serve a panel of assigned brokers' accounts.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with brokers in line with Underwriting Authority.
- Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to brokers.
- Visit brokers as required to develop business and maintain the existing book of business.
- Produce monthly reports for renewals and provide accurate analysis.
- Identify poorly performed accounts and take necessary remedial actions.
- Liaison with Claims team and prepare relevant claim reports.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on daily broker/client inquiries and assist with premium receivable tasks.
- Work with the IT team for system enhancement and testing of new/existing products.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance underwriting within commercial/SME lines.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Experience in underwriting insurance risks.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory practices and legislation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Certificate in insurance (Cert CII).
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
