Principal Engineer - Rail Design (Can take Associate level too)

Location: Amersham or one of our 6 other locations across the UK

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Work Arrangement: 3-4 days in the office with hybrid working flexibility (subject to board approval)

Salary: Attractive market rates (Depends on the level)

Due to the success of a recent senior appointment and a huge increase in projects secured, we are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer with a strong background in rail design to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the UK rail market and be a fully qualified civil or structural engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects within a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage rail design projects, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with UK rail industry regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to continually improve project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Civil or Structural Engineer with a strong rail design background.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the UK rail market operations.
  • Proven track record of stable employment history with demonstrated career progression.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both in the office (3-4 days per week) and remotely as approved.

This role can be based in Amersham or at one of our other locations across the UK, providing you with the flexibility to choose a location that suits you best.
