Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom North West Recycling Full time

North West Recycling, Cumbria's leading waste management supplier are actively recruiting for a MIV Service Provider to join our expanding team.

We employ over 100 staff, operate over 25 vehicles, and deploy over 2500 skips and containers from our 30-acre purpose-built waste management, skip hire and recycling facility near Carlisle, in Cumbria.

As a family run business, we are committed to helping our customers and partners to better, more sustainably, manage their waste.

Our aim is to fully close the circular journey of the waste produced, through our ability to manage the entire process - skip hire and business waste collection through to recycling and full material recovery.

The Role

Following the successful introduction of the 'Man & Van' service to NWR, we are thrilled to now be looking to expand the team further.

In this role you would act as the face of the company to deliver an outstanding waste collection service to our customers.

This will involve driving the company van and therefore a valid driving licence is essential.

The MIV Service Provider will be required to load the van during waste collection jobs and unload the van when back on site so the ability to maintain safe manual handling practices is a must.

Being face-to-face with customers, a key requirement would be to keep up to date with what the service delivers so that you can provide accurate information and also to allow opportunities to add value for customers.

With this knowledge you will also be able to raise the profile of the company and service to increase future opportunities.

This does not mean you would be a sales rep but rather to be able to answer queries, listen to what customers need and advise what we could offer.

You would then signpost them to the 'Man & Van' Manager for further details, sales, orders, etc.

By the way, 'Man & Van' is just the name of the service, the vacancy is open to everyone that meets the experience and skills criteria

Responsibilities and duties to include:
-

  • To complete jobs for the 'Man & Van' service in line with the service and booking requirements.
  • Professionally representing the NWR brand whilst on the road and with customers.
  • The role will involve working with domestic customers and therefore being courteous and respectful of individual homes, property, etc is imperative.
  • To load and unload the vehicle and maintain safety and security of the load at all times.
  • This role involves heavy lifting so an ability to maintain safe manual handling techniques will be crucial.
  • Driving safely, responsibly and within the law.
