As our Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the high standards across our site and office.

We are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy and has basic skills in plumbing, electrical work, gardening, and general handyman tasks.

Organisational skills, a positive outlook, and efficiency are essential for this role. The position is very hands-on, with each day bringing a mix of different tasks.

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct daily morning checks to open the site, identify any needed repairs, and fix them promptly.
  • Perform daily checkins with Selecta, our site vending suppliers.
  • Run the daily Starbucks routine clean cycle and reorder stock when necessary.
  • Review and efficiently resolve facilities tickets raised by colleagues.
  • Manage and liaise with external contractors for services or repairs, ensuring adherence to their contracts and our health and safety policy.
  • Update logs and coordinate planned maintenance, ensuring compliance with legal requirements such as annual PAT testing, emergency lighting tests, air conditioning services, and fire safety inspections.
  • Conduct weekly fire alarm tests.
  • Perform hourly, daily, and weekly facilities checks across the site to maintain high standards.
  • Carry out routine and planned maintenance both internally and externally, including window cleaning, decoration work, and outside planting.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels for necessary consumable items and materials to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the site, working with the cleaning team as required.
  • Keep the site safe in winter by monitoring external gritting of roads and car parks and adding grit to footpaths and steps as needed.

We ask you to have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in a caretaker role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Friendly and personable

While not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:

  • NEBOSH qualified would be a benefit


Your working week will consist of 7-hour days, with a flexible start time between 5:00am and 6:30am, Monday to Friday.

Occasionally, weekend work will be required for out-of-hours planned maintenance. This can be arranged as overtime or by shifting your regular hours.


Please ensure that you are flexible to work outside of office hours, including one weekend per month, to perform maintenance tasks with mínimal disruption to daily office operations.


With a starting salary of up to £35,000 depending on your skills and experience, you will also benefit from annual performance-based reviews which reward your success with a clear progression path for future earnings.
