About the Role

  • We are looking for two experienced Lean Manufacturing Tutors/Assessors who will cover the apprentice Standard for Lean Manufacturing Operatives and will initially be based around two days per week to meet a small cohort of apprentices in the company._
One day will be based in college teaching the mandatory qualification:

  • EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) 603/3589/0
The second day will be based on the company assessing & supporting the skills element of the learners.

  • As the programme expands, additional days may be required._
What You Will Do

This role involves visiting students in their workplace to check competency and quality of their work while supporting them to build their onsite evidence portfolio, your priority will be to support students to achieve their full potential.


In a typical day, you will be:

  • Visit the student's workplace to observe them working on their skills
  • Supporting them to complete their onsite portfolio of evidence.
  • Complete progress reviews with students and setting them targets.
  • Liaise with employers, teaching staff & support departments to progress students through their apprenticeship.
About You

  • Extensive knowledge and hands on experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques based in a Manufacturing / processing environment.
  • To have a level 4 qualification in manufacturing or Lean.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Verifier V1 Award or a willingness to work towards within a reasonable timeframe.
