Pharmacy Medicine Administration Technician

We are looking for someone with an accredited checking qualification (ACPT), computer skills, ability to drive and with access to a car.
The successful candidate's will be provided with comprehensive training to enable them to succeed in, and to develop, the role, including skills relating to medicines administration and physical health monitoring.
You will be an integral part of our service provision, working with the in-patient team to promote the safe and effective use of medicines.
The Trust provides a range of inpatient services for adult mental health, forensic services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS), Older Peoples' Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and community hospitals.
There is ONE available post on Elmwood ward which provides care for older people who have organic mental health needs and are unable to look after themselves, some patients have early onset dementia.
You will be working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, providing pharmaceutical care to patients with a range of mental health conditions.
This role is intended to promote the safe and effective utilisation of medicines in all care situations, working with care staff and patients directly, including administering oral medication to inpatients.
The role will focus on the administration of oral, inhaled and topical medicines following the successful completion of the medicines administration competencies.
The role also includes undertaking medicines reconciliations, patient counselling, physical health monitoring, ordering medicines, teaching and audit work. This role is central to optimising the safe and effective use of medicines.You will be required to understand the patient pathway of care, from admission to discharge and strategies for optimising patients' concordance with medicines.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024.
The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
