The Role


We are looking for an Assistant Engagement Ranger to help us maintain access, recreation and nature, manage volunteers, and engage with visitors, as well as work with partners and colleagues as appropriate.

You will be based at Fairholmes, in the Upper Derwent Valley, working in partnership with Severn Trent Water.


You will be required to work on a rota pattern which includes 50% of weekends per annum and some bank holidays.


Provisional interview date:
Thursday 7 December

About You


You will need to be a people person who is able to use their own initiative in a significant visitor location of the national park.

You will have a qualification in Countryside Management, or significant related experience, experience of working with visitors and volunteers and be passionate about providing access to nature and the countryside.

It is also the most accessible due to its proximity to four major cities of the UK and its 38,000 residents.
