Our position:

We are assembling a team of skilled project managers who exceed mere plan management, offering project leadership and insights to our business clients. AstraZeneca is establishing an internal consulting capability within our Global Business Services (GBS) division, focused on delivering top-notch project management expertise to our enterprise.

Our goal is to create a global, enterprise project services team that drives business results by meeting the ongoing internal demand for robust project management skills and capabilities throughout the organization. You will collaborate closely with our business units as a project specialist and trusted confidant. We uphold the highest quality standards, foster collaboration, and put in the work to support our business partners.

You will collaborate with the GBS Project Services team to outline and deliver service quality while also serving as a project influencer with the business, addressing their need for project assistance. Utilizing a strong grasp of change management and exceptional communication abilities, you will effectively engage stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

Typical Accountabilities:

  • Project leadership - oversee cross-functional, complex projects with high risk and some uncertainty in initiation. Maintain a focus on outcomes and benefits.
  • Project governance – establish, implement, and propel project governance amid a complex stakeholder landscape.
  • Customer engagement – deliver outstanding customer service, effective communication, professionalism, and a dedication to surpassing expectations.
  • External insight – remain current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to bring value to internal stakeholders.
  • Coaching and mentoring – provide guidance and support to fellow team members.

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven track record of steering large projects in a global organization.
  • Experience in managing projects within a global setting.
  • Significant experience and proficiency in presenting to C-suite/executive level clients through written and verbal channels.
  • Evidence of strong communication and relationship-building skills, collaborating and sharing knowledge across teams.
  • Experience in risk assessment, evaluating options, and soliciting input from others to make informed decisions and plan mitigation strategies.
  • Comfort and proficiency in navigating a complex operational matrixed organization across diverse, global teams.
  • Excellent business engagement and acumen with an awareness of internal and external political/economic dynamics.

Desirable requirements:

  • Project Management Certification
  • Change Management Certification
  • Experience in Management Consulting
  • Background in the pharmaceutical industry or similar global & complex organizations; familiarity with quality and compliance environments and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
