Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom National Star Full time

Supporting the emotional wellbeing of students with disabilities at National Star is vital to ensuring they can learn effectively and develop into independent young adults in control of their own lives.

Our Emotional Wellbeing Service is made up of a range of specialist therapists who work with funded students to help them explore difficult feelings and work through emotional challenges they may be facing.

Due to a current member of the team moving to work closer to home we are looking for a new dramatherapist to join the team.

Our new dramatherapist will be part of a friendly and supportive team of multi-disciplinary therapists including music therapy, dance and movement psychotherapy, counselling, positive behaviour support and clinical psychology.

You will have a caseload of around 8 students receiving dramatherapy to support their social, emotional, and mental health needs as identified in their Education, Health and Care Plans.

Sessions will be delivered either as one-to-one interventions or as part of a small group alongside another therapist.

We're looking for someone who is proactive and creative to undertake this role, ideally with experience of working in an education setting with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, ASD and acquired brain injuries.

This role is term-time only, hours week. This could be offered as a job share or a 32 hour a week contract.

Our Emotional Wellbeing Service is having a significant and positive impact on the lives of students at National Star. Join our friendly team and see how your dramatherapy skills can be used to deliver positive change for others.

How to apply
Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks.

The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level.

Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
