Rapid Recruit are looking for experienced Sewing Machinists for our client based in Nelson.

The main duties would be:

  • To discuss daily work requirements with a supervisor.
  • Set up sewing machines and overlockers.
  • Work on part or all of the product, stitching together fabric pattern pieces to make garments.
  • Operate threadtrimming and other nonsewing machines.
  • Undertake repairs or alterations including hand sewing as required.
  • Prepare finished goods for inspection and delivery by trimming, steaming whererequired.
  • Good housekeeping, ensuring a safe and clean work area at all times.
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at
  • Sewing experience is beneficial, however not essential as training will be provided.
  • Performs such similar, comparable, or related duties as required.

Previous industrial sewing machining essential.


This is a full time role working 08.00am to 17.00pm Monday to Thursday 08.00am to 12.00pm Friday (Overtime as and when required).

The rate of pay is £10.42 an hour.
