South East London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre is an established screening centre, currently providing Bowel Cancer Screening to the boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley.


The role of Senior Administrator is pivotal in ensuring smooth running of the administrative responsibilities associated with the Bowel Cancer Screening service.

This role has been created to provide an organised structure for the Bowel Cancer Screening Administrative Team.

The post holder will be expected to line manage a small team of administrators and serve as a role model.


The role entails operational decision-making skills, ability to work autonomously using own initiative and within the team in the development and delivery of the screening service.

This role also entails providing support to the BCSP administration and clinical staff as well as to provide cover for periods of leave.

The main responsibility will be to provide timely, efficient and effective support for the screening programme. Supervising the Admin team and ensuring all patients are tracked according to cancer waiting times


The role of Senior Administrator is pivotal in ensuring smooth running of the administrative responsibilities associated with the Bowel Cancer Screening service.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a community focused provider of local and acute care, providing high quality services to over one million people living across the London boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley.

With a turnover of around £700 million, we provide services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, University Hospital Lewisham and a range of community settings in Lewisham.

We also provide some services at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

As an organisation, we've made significant improvements for patients and staff in the last two and-a-half years.

This is reflected in our most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection (from February 2020), which found improvements across the organisation and gave us an improved rating of "Good" in the Well-Led and Effective domains, in addition to the rating of "Good" that we had already achieved in the Caring domain.

Our staff culture change programme has been key to the Trust's improvement journey, as we've stabilised our workforce by reducing vacancy rates and improving staff retention.

We've also significantly increased the representation of minority ethnic leaders across our clinical and corporate teams.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage and assist in the administrative aspects of the Bowel Cancer Screening service
  • Ensure patient pathway runs smoothly and procedure lists start on time
  • Line manage the team of administrators and serve as a role model
  • Provide expert advice on aspects of the patient's care within defined boundaries and limits
  • Liaise with all relevant departments (Endoscopy, Radiology, and Pathology)
