This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the Therapies and Healthcare Scientists leadership team.

You will be responsible for professional governance of all Occupational Therapists across Powys Teaching Health Board ensuring the service is safe, effective, efficient, patient centered and delivered to a high quality.


You will also ensure the service is responsive and developing in line with local and national strategies and policies with a range of responsibilities including professional standards and personal development of staff.


As a key member of the Therapies and Healthcare Scientists Leadership Team you will expected to provide professional support to Community Service Group, Mental Health and Women and Children's Services.

You will lead and support collaborative and partnership working in areas of quality improvement and change management in line with the strategic direction of the Occupational Therapy service.

The Professional Head of Occupational Therapy (OT) is a professional leader and operational manager within the Therapies and Health Science services.

Currently this role operational manages the Adult Occupational Therapy Learning Disability service.

Responsibility for the OT Service meeting identified key performance indicators and targets.

Lead on specific clinical audits, research and quality improvement projects.

Provide clinical and professional supervision to Occupational Therapists.

Diploma/Degree - Occupational Therapy
Leadership or Management qualification/ training
Risk Management training
Varied post graduate clinical experience
Leadership experience and supervision of senior staff and teams
Experience of managing budgets and financial planning
Business and workforce planning experience
Experience of Service Development and successful budgeting management
Manage staff and achieve optimum performance
Detailed knowledge of current professional policy and practice and its implications / professional priorities and issues
Comprehensive IT skills to support clinical and management practice
Project Management skills

Able to provide professional emotional support

Ability to travel within geographical area
