Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading and inspiring your team to hit team Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost weekly, monthly, yearly targets
  • The development of a safetyfirst culture within your team, to inspire and motivate the team to create and continually improve safe behaviours and processes.
  • Continually improving your team's 'safe system of work:' i) continually developing standard operating procedures ii) training your staff and verifying their competency to the standards and iii) enforcing the standards to mitigate business risk.
  • Maintain a commitment to Quality by i) gaining a good understanding of customer value from the sales teams, ii) training your staff and verifying their competency to the standards, and iii) enforcing the standards to mitigate business risk.
  • Using the resources allocated to you to execute work in line with the business priorities.
  • Creating a high level of team spirit and engagement.
  • Support, reinforce and uphold leadership decisions and policies across the workshop.
  • Ensure accurate completion of daily timesheets including confirmation of job numbers.
  • Manage maintenance plans, and action all tooling requirements of the team as required.
  • Effectively manage people resources to meet production requirements across various product groups.
  • Increase efficiency of the workshop by maintaining a focus on Quality and continuous improvement.
  • Daily review for overtime by product group and obtain authorisation.
  • Check the quality of completed jobs and sign off against the job pack
  • Plan and schedule consumables and tooling to support reliable and repeatable practices.
  • Ensure completed jobs are transferred to stores/dispatch in a timely manner.
  • Understand business needs by exhibiting an understanding of key drivers and performance measures (eg job schedule) relating to the workshop.
  • Develop your team members skills in line with your team's training plan, their career development goals and your team's succession plan.
  • Maintain a succession plan to minimise business continuity risk if a team member leaves or is promoted.
  • Develop your team's problemsolving capability so the team members are capable of solving the majority of issues they are confronted with.
  • Selfdevelopment as a leader, participating in leadership development events.
  • Reporting and presenting your weekly performance results with respect to safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and the team's improvement projects.
  • Acting on any performance gaps identified in a timely and proactive way.

What you bring:

  • Current Manual Car Drivers License.
  • While a trade qualification is not mandatory, knowledge, skills and experience of the function you are leading is essential, as the greater portion of your day (65%) is expected to be directing quality work outcomes.
  • Experience in manufacturing mining analytical equipment advantageous.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership skills.
  • Experience in a workshop environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated Industry and Product knowledge of mineral processing in mining Sector.
  • Team player, able to interface positively with all team members.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Competent in the use of MS Word, Outlook and Excel and experienced utilising ERP database systems i.e. Epicor, SAP or similar systems.
  • Good organisation, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and housekeeping standards.
