About the role

Based in Bury, you will be tasked with:

  • Support of provision of bookkeeping services
  • Entering clients' accounts onto Sage or other appropriate bookkeeping system (inhouse or on site)
  • Purchase ledger and sales ledger processing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Accounts to trial balance
  • Monthly VAT returns meeting HMRC deadlines
  • Managing own portfolio of clients
  • Visiting clients as and when required to assist with bookkeeping function (own car required)
  • Special oneoff assignments for clients, i.e., training, problems and providing cover for emergencies

About you

  • Bookkeeping experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Working knowledge of VAT returns
  • Fully competent on excel and outlook
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Use of own initiative
  • Good team player
  • Highly organised and ability to prioritise own workload
  • Effective attention to detail
  • A degree of flexibility in hours worked to allow for travel to/from clients as and when required

Experience is also preferable in:

  • Xero and Sage 50
  • DEXT or similar products desirable
