Responsibilities

  • To ensuring that ingredients are stored, prepared, cooked and presented to the highest standard and meets our members requirments, complying with food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure a clean and hygenic kitchen environment is maintained at all times. Following food safety management procedures and keeping the necessary records that meet internal and external industry standards.
  • Maintaining stock records
  • Rotating stock as per established procedures
  • Ordering stock
  • Planning menus, special offers and buffets for weddings, birthdays and funerals

Cook skills and qualifications

  • Indepth knowledge of various cooking techniques
  • Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Strong team spirit
  • Ability to work in a highpressure environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Two years or more experience as a Cook in the catering industry
  • Working knowledge of mathematical principles such as ratios and proportions
  • Good dexterity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A minimum of a level 2 food hygiene certificate along with certification in allergen is legally required and, HASSP, COSH and heath and safety in the work place are desirable.

Salary:
£10.10-£12.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Every weekend

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Wallsend, NE28 9HA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Chef: 1 year (preferred)
  • Cooking: 2 years (required)
  • Kitchen experience: 3 years (preferred)
