We are looking for a Graduate Surveyor to join our friendly and supportive team who provide property advice to clients within our Power Networks projects.

Your workload will be incredibly varied from assisting in managing operation and non-operation property portfolios, dealing with acquisitions and disposals, securing land rights, through to advising on a range of land & planning matters for client capital works schemes.

At every stage you will benefit from one-to-one support as part of our Graduate Programme; a community of Graduates at all stages of their qualification journey within Dalcour Maclaren.


This role will be ideally suited to you if you're circa 6-12 months through the Graduate Training to become a qualified Surveyor.

As a Graduate Surveyor you will:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver land and property advice and services to and on behalf of clients
  • Deliver a range of tasks with assistance and consultation from team members to the required standard. Using initiative and a proactive approach to ensure client deadlines and objectives are met, taking pride and ownership in the quality of work delivered, whilst also striving to develop personal knowledge and understanding of the utilities and infrastructure profession
  • Develop positive working relationships with client personnel and internal and external stakeholders, projecting a positive and professional image of DM and the client at all times
  • Provide the business with adhoc assistance on other projects and to have the flexibility to work and/or relocate to offices and locations where support is required on both a short and longterm basis
  • To maintain uptodate record keeping on all projects and tasks you are working on, including meeting notes, comprehensive file updates and records of activities
  • Develop knowledge and skills via companyrun and wider training and development and take responsibility for your own professional qualification (e.g. RICS) learning and progress, scheduling progress review meetings and maintaining an uptodate diary of activities
  • Attend company events and socials and embrace DM's values, adopting a positive attitude in the workplace
  • Complete work in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and organisational policies and requirements
