We are currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee and maintain our supply chain, ensuring inventory levels are maintained appropriately in alignment with business and customer needs.

Stock holdings will be managed to ensure the correct level of stock ensuring excess stock and low stock is minimised.

Respond daily to all queries arising from other teams.
Obtain and provide quotations to Sales and Customer service staff upon request.
Raise Purchase Orders with suppliers, based on inventory requirements of the business.
Ensure the correct specifications are ordered and delivered by the suppliers.
Timely turnaround of pricing and order placement to agreed SLAs between departments.
Monitor all shipments and container deliveries into the UK warehouse and any 3PLs.
Ensure the most appropriate shipment of inventory, monitoring cost and lead times.
Ensure that purchases are placed through key suppliers in the Far East and local suppliers.
Ensure stock levels are managed appropriately, reporting on usage and forecasts from the business.

Work with the Operations Director to improve purchasing processes where necessary and remove any bottlenecks by suggesting and implementing improvements and solutions.

Monitor supplier performance, identify risks and manage improvement. Keep senior management informed of major issues/risks.
Identify and work with management to reduce stock listings, avoid panic buying and ensure we limit stock write-off.

Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure correct forecasting of customers stock requirements and maintain smooth processes to support this.

Communicate with senior management and gain approval for any new suppliers or stock items.
Ensure the Purchasing Executive Role is monitored and works well in conjunction with you.

Ensure relationships are built with all suppliers to enable a good level of support from our suppliers, including via phone & email.

Work with relevant teams including Compliance & Design to ensure all products are standardised and in line with BioPak Global.

Monitor Goods coming into the warehouse to ensure deliveries are not stacked and to ensure there is enough available space for BioPak Operations, raising with senior management if there are concerns.

Monitor slower-moving stock to ensure relevant teams can push these products for sale.
Ensure that any new products are communicated at time of order so that full product launch can be achieved.

Develop and monitor operational purchasing tasks, including:

Purchasing requests – What information is needed to ensure the correct stock is purchased (forecasts, time frames, additional potential lines etc.)Purchase order documents – Saved and monitored for accuracy.

Ensure stock is monitored during production and transit.
Goods received – Ensure quality control checks are taking place, and recorded appropriately.
Match goods to PO and invoices. Including VAT and Duty invoices from freight forwarders. Ensure all are accurate.

Ensure all supplier invoices are received and recorded in NetSuite in a timely manner, and work with finance team to ensure suppliers are paid on time in accordance with agreed payment terms.

Ensure all details pertaining to stock items or suppliers are comprehensive and up to date.

Essential Skills:
5+ years experience of managing Far East supply chain.
Strong lateral thinker and problem solver.
Proven relationship-building capability – both with Staff and SuppliersResilient and able to manage varying workloads in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable with conflict and engaging in difficult conversations.
Proven team-building abilities.

Ability to both solve an issue and look at the process to prevent a recurrence of that issue in future, if required.

Hands-on approach, and able to get directly involved in operational issues.
Able to identify and escalate issues that you cannot solve without support at an early stage.
Accuracy and attention to detailPrioritising when you have many tasks to complete.
Evaluating who is impacted by specific scenarios and ensuring they are communicated, and solutions/alternatives found.
Remain calm under pressure.
