Spencer Clarke is hiring multiple caretakers to work for Brent Council.
As a caretaker you will be responsible for ensuring that cleaning of housing properties meets or exceeds the agreed
standards and frequencies to internal and external areas of the council estates.

You will be based in Brent and tasked with:

  • Carrying out deep internal and external cleaning (including bin/bin chambers and graffiti)
across the housing sites in line with the deep cleaning programme.
- general maintenance

  • Reporting environmental issues to the relevant Council's services for prompt actions.
  • Liaising with the relevant internal and external services and assist them with the prevention of
fly-tips, graffiti and ASB on the housing sites.

  • Key Internal Contacts: Tenancy team; Neighborhood inspectors; Neighborhood Safety
Officers; Customer Experience team.

  • Carrying out window cleaning for the communal areas up to third floor across the housing sites
in line with the programmed schedules.

  • Removing bulky items and fly tips from internal and external areas of housing sites across the
borough

  • To work flexibly between Monday to Sunday and evening working

The ideal district care taker will have:

  • Experience in a previous role
possess a full and valid UK driving licence) and manage day-to-day operation of vehicles/machineries to ensure an effective delivery of the service for fly-tips or deep
cleaning service.

  • Communication skills understands information and communicates clearly,
concisely and effectively in a friendly and approachable manner with
residents and colleagues

  • Team Working able to work effectively with others, cooperates with
colleagues, sensitive to people's needs and helps the team achieve its
goals

  • Physical Ability able to perform the physical tasks required for this post,
including lifting heavy weights and working with industrial cleaning materials
and equipment
devices (eg. mobile phones) to record, transmit and communicate.
Excellent people skills.

  • Handyperson/DIY ability: Able to carry out basic repairs and maintenance of
estate assets (eg, change light bulbs, Fix estate signage etc)

  • Sufficient understanding of English to be able to communicate adequately
with colleagues, residents and other stakeholders.

What's on offer;

- working hours are 08:00-16:00

- the role is paying £14.00 per hour
- the role is initially an 8 month contract with a view to longer work.
