IT Developer

My client is forever evolving, and transforming, and now require an IT Developer to join the Trading & Logistics space within their IT Delivery Team.

Supporting the Product, Order Processing, and Fulfilment systems providing fit-for-purpose solutions that enable positive customer experiences, greater efficiency and contribute to business profitability.

You will be responsible for the team, driving engineering best practices and actively supporting the team to ensure they are working to the best of their abilities.

• SQL query development ideally IBM DB2 / Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle SQL
• Data structure design, relational database data modelling
• Complex data Analysis
• Messaging technologies e.g., IBMs Integration Bus /Broker, Websphere MQ, Mulesoft
• Java
• Source code control tools such as SVN, Bitbucket, Jenkins
• Application design skills Must be able to document solutions clearly, accurately and present them successfully to both technical experts, business analysts and managers
• Application integration skills
• Overall good technical skills, particularly within Enterprise scale & retail environments

• You will be responsible as the Technical Leader on your team
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our change and release processes
• Technical problem analysis looking at root cause resolution
• Work efficiently and routinely delivers the right things with limited guidance
• Divide a software project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other Software Development Engineers and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch
• Understand the business impact of your systems and show good judgment when making technical tradeoffs between your team's shortterm business or operational needs and longterm technology needs
• Drive engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) and set standards
• Actively support the team's manager to recruit and help others leverage your expertise via coaching and mentoring
• Provide technical assessments for promotions to Software Development Engineer Level 2 (Mid) and Software Development Engineer Level 3 (Senior).
• Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge and engineering practices
