ABOUT THE ROLE:
Overall Purpose

Working as a leader of a micro-team, to co-ordinate all packaging between fried product and the first section of packaging to ensure all production is meeting with the company standards in food safety, quality, health and safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

To maintain health and safety standards and to challenge any hazardous behaviour

To ensure all packaging material is safe to use and correct for the scheduled process order

To use mechanical skills and critical thinking around machinery especially during troubleshooting

To maintain good communication with area leaders and other operators, improving production flow or to co-ordinate any other action required

To maintain problem solving attitude towards machinery and people

Ensure your personal safety and that of all personnel including others who may be affected by the Company's activities

Be proactive in sourcing development opportunities - get involved in production behind the scenes: audits, administration

Adhere to the duties required for your role within the Health and Safety policy

Promote and enforce behaviours and actions that will prevent all contamination threats to products whether physical, microbial or chemical

To escalate any issues to leadership immediately what affects production and safety

What experience do I need to apply?

It's really important that you...

• Are able to take and understand direction clearly and safely, carrying out any reasonable additional duties as and when requested
• Have a high level of mechanical aptitude
• Can work at pace but in a safe manner
• Have a good understanding of food safety and health & safety
• Can communicate well at all levels
• Are selfmotivated, with high energy levels
• Can problem solve quickly and effectively when needed

WHERE YOU'LL WORK?

You'll be based at our Grantham plant in Lincolnshire along with a team of approx. 130 other colleagues. You might not know, but here at McCain we also produce a range of fries called 'Fries to Go' - they're made from mashed potato, are encased in their own special crisping compartment, and can be cooked in a microwave in just over 2 minutes - we are all about convenience at McCain In fact, we also run a free shuttle bus to the factory from Grantham Town Centre
