Overview:

Element has an opportunity for a

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
  • Assist with metallurgical failure analysis on failed metallic (ferrous and nonferrous) components, assissting in the generation of failure investigation reports with technical findings
  • Carry out the mechanical tests for material properties evaluation and weld procedure specification qualification as per various international standards (ASME, API, AWS and BS)
  • Carry out corrosion tests as per NACE standards and other project specification to determine the susceptibility of material to corrosion in various service conditions
  • Perform metallographic examinations on various materials to determine grain size, cleanliness, volume percentage of phases and general microstructure evaluation
  • Coordinate with the clients & third party witness as to the testing details
  • Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution Element Technology annual targets and budget

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
  • Proven experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Good maths skills
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
  • Excellent organisational and team working skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
