An opportunity has arisen to work within Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trusts Recovery College as a Peer Support Worker.

The role of a Peer Support Worker (PSW) has been developed specifically for individuals who have lived experience of mental distress and who have accessed mental health services.

Through appropriately sharing your own lived experiences of mental health, you will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible, helping students to feel more positively about their future.

This role will involve you being part of the co-production and co-delivery of educational courses around physical health, mental health and wellbeing within Lincolnshire

The role of a Peer Support Worker (PSW) has been developed specifically for individuals who have lived experience of mental distress and have accessed mental health services.


Through sharing their own experience, PSW's will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible, helping students to feel more positively about their future.


Under the supervision of a senior member of the Recovery College team the PSW will support the coproduction and cofacilitation of a comprehensive range of Recovery College courses.

The PSW will do this by drawing on their own lived experience and expertise of mental health challenges and recovery to:
provide emotional and relational support for students involved with coproduction.

be a valued part of coproduction discussions.

support students to understand the learning objectives within Recovery College sessions.


The post holder will work under the supervision of and with support and guidance from the Recovery College team (including Line manager, Occupational Therapist, Peer support coordinator, Snr PSW and OTA, Drama worker and Peer trainer).

Share/teach coping, self-help and self-management techniques with students in an appropriate and supportive manner during session cofacilitation.


Support students to meet the session learning objectives and personal goals set and support with signposting and information to community services to promote student emotional and social development.

Work in a way that acknowledges the personal, social, cultural and spiritual strengths and needs of the individual.

Always maintain strict confidentiality of student information and ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with Trust Policy.


Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and local and national policy and legislation.

Engage in a period of induction, supervision and work-related training, as required.

To work flexibly across the week, this may include some weekend and evening work.

Be a part of and attend peer supervision and focus groups.

Liaise with representatives from universal services, as appropriate, and facilitate and model good communication between services.


You may occasionally be asked to undertake such other duties that are deemed necessary in order to support business continuity within the Trust.

This will only include tasks where you are appropriately trained.
