About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for developing and leading the Global Commodity Sourcing Strategy, with a focus on plastic and moulds. This will involve managing raw materials for in-house moulding, collaborating with subcontracted moulding partners, and sourcing third-party plastic components.

You will work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to build strong and transparent relationships that drive high performance and excellence in the Supply Chain. These stakeholders will include teams from Manufacturing, Quality & Compliance, EHS, NPI, Sustainability, and Sales.

As the designated expert in plastic commodities, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the business strategy in this essential area. It is essential to be onsite 2-3 days a week, and proximity to the workplace is preferred.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with supply chain and sales teams to establish efficient supply chains that support business growth
  • Enhance the management of strategic materials and services by creating and implementing commodity strategies and negotiating contracts to enhance overall value and minimize risk
  • Streamline global sourcing and procurement processes and enhance governance
  • Assist in the implementation of a digital strategy to improve performance metrics, including market intelligence and commodity performance
  • Identify sustainable sources of supply that align with our environmental goals, such as achieving net-zero emissions and promoting biodiversity
  • Champion continuous improvement by adopting best practices and sharing knowledge across the function
Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in global commodity management, preferably in the plastic sector
  • Strong background in global sourcing and procurement
  • Technical proficiency in quality standards, process engineering, and lean methodologies
  • Ability to simplify complex subjects or data into actionable improvement plans
  • Proven project management skills and experience working within project teams
  • Commitment to delivering results, implementing improvements, and performing well under pressure
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualifications such as CIPS or APICS
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, approximately 10-20% of the time
