Salary up to £35,000 per annum

Oakland BE Ltd are a main contractor based in Bromsgrove, working throughout the country on a variety of construction projects up to £5 million ranging from warehouse refurbishments to new builds. We are looking to recruit a Junior Estimator to work alongside our existing Estimator. The role would suit someone with a construction background looking to move into estimating or with some experience looking to further develop their skills.

The Role:

Working alongside our existing Estimator:

  • Review Scope of Works to determine materials and labour requirements
  • Conduct site meetings to gather necessary information
  • Prepare and send out subcontractor and supplier enquiries
  • Analyse and interpret subcontractor's proposals
  • Prepare prelims for tender
  • Prepare tender submissions for evaluation and submission within agreed timescales

About You:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (construction)
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards, practices and materials
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Proficient IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Outlook
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
