Position: SEN Assistant Headteacher
Location: Chesterfield Area
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the SEN department, ensuring top-quality teaching and learning.
  • Create and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) to cater to the distinct needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and external specialists to aid student advancement.
  • Offer guidance and professional growth opportunities to the staff on SEN best practices.
  • Assess and appraise the effectiveness of SEN provision and interventions.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive school atmosphere where every student feels appreciated and supported.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial background in SEN education.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an educational institution.
  • Solid understanding of SEN legislation, regulations, and top practices.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal competencies.
  • A caring and understanding approach to working with students with varied needs.
  • DBS on the update service or open to obtaining one.
