Job summary

Recruitment Open Day on Saturday 6th July 2024 for Physiotherapists at Whipps Cross University Hospital - in the Therapies Department.

We are able to offer the benefits of working in one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. We offer professional PT/OT support and development provided from the on-site PT/OT Clinical Leads, team leads as well as our Practice Development PT and Practice Development OT. In addition to in a house-training programme, we provide a Trust-wide post-core programme.

There are various rotations available across:

Stroke/Neurotherapy Specialist Medicine and Palliative Care Older People Services Orthopaedics and Trauma ED and Acute Assessment Unit Critical Care and Surgery

Essential

Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy Registered as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Desirable

Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Experience

Essential

NHS experience as a Physiotherapist Relevant recent post registration experience as a Physiotherapist. Post registration experience in relevant clinical settings: Respiratory, Neurology, Surgery, MSK. Experience of sole working as part of an emergency respiratory out of hours service Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HCPC recommendations Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of audit/research.

Desirable

Advice, training, and support to more junior staff, assistants, and students. Member of specific relevant interest group Committee membership eg Risk Management

Knowledge

Essential

Understand legal responsibilities of the profession and the associated code of ethics Broad knowledge of current best practice in PT in acute physical, community and rehab setting. Detailed knowledge risk management Knowledge of clinical governance and its implication for services Understanding and compliance with Data Protection & Confidentiality

Skills

Essential

Application of Risk Management Ability to deliver training both internally within the profession and externally to other staff groups. Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes Ability to apply current best practice in physiotherapy in acute physical and rehab settings. Ability to maintain respiratory competency to be able to perform emergency on-call physiotherapy duties Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to supervise other staff more junior staff / assistants / students. Ability to gain patient's trust Ability to engender confidence & feeling of safety in patients about their care IM&T skills.
