RSR Police are hiring for an Investigator MIU (Family Liaison Officer) role on behalf of a police force in the midlands.

This is a temporary position until the end of March 2025, located in Worcester.



Details:

  • Location: Worcester
  • Contract: 9 months
  • Work hours: Full time/ Part time options available – Hybrid work model
  • Salary: £25 per hour
  • Vacancy: 1 position available

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations into crimes and participate in various evidence gathering and crime investigation tasks with designated Investigating Officer powers.
  • Interview victims and witnesses of crimes, documenting evidence in statements or through ABE interviews, with necessary support for medical and forensic evidence collection.
  • Serve as a liaison officer for crime victims and witnesses, providing support throughout the criminal justice process, including regular updates on investigations.
  • Utilize criminal intelligence to prevent and detect crime, submitting intelligence reports on suspected criminal activities.
  • Engage in covert intelligence activities as needed, acting as an intelligence officer in major crime cases.

Requirements:

  • Previous detective experience.
  • Extensive experience in serious and/or complex crime investigations.
  • Knowledge of best evidence rules, investigative interviewing, case file preparation, and an understanding of forensics.
  • Familiarity with criminal procedure legislation, including PACE and CPIA.
  • Ability to operate at or progress towards Level 1 of the CVF.
  • UK residency for the last 5 years for vetting purposes.
