Position Title - Catering Assistant
Location - Holsworthy Community College
Reporting to - Chef Manager
Job Term - Permanent / Part-Time
Hours - 22.5 hours per week/39 weeks per year
Work pattern - Monday to Friday, between 8:00am - 2:45pm
Grade / Salary - Grade A / A1 £20,967 FTE
Organisation - The Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust
There are 18 schools within The Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, 3 secondary, 14 primary and a new SEMH school.
Your main place of work will be Holsworthy Community College but you may be required to work across other schools within The Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust at any time as directed by the Executive Team.
Discussions will take place on a regular basis to clarify individual responsibilities within the general framework and character of the post as identified below.
Job Purpose:
- Ensuring all aspects of relevant legislation are complied with, in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; the Food Safety Act 1990 and any other associated miscellaneous legislation.
- Assisting the Chef Manager in the preparation, cooking and service of food to customers students, staff and visitors.
- Operation of cashless tills.
- All kitchen and dining room cleaning duties as per the rota and schedule for the unit.
- Preparation of dining area, serving areas and display cabinets.
- To be involved in the promotion of the service to attract the maximum number of customers.
- To assist in the provision of catering for special functions outside normal working hours/days as requested.
- To assist in the provision of catering in a civil emergency if requested by the Catering Manager.
- To receive food from the production unit and monitor the temperature and condition on arrival.
- To report any concerns regarding student behaviour to the Catering Manager or senior college staff.
