What will I be doing?

  • Profitably underwrite Commercial Combined on a casebycase basis, within Covéa's appetite and underwriting criteria.
  • Underwrite within Covéa strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and brokers as well as identifying new opportunities within our network.
  • Attend training, review meetings and social events when required.
  • Maintain, and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
  • Working closely with senior underwriters and supporting those more junior
  • Maintain an accurate audit trail using Covéa systems, practices and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of:
  • The commercial lines market
  • The broking marketplace
  • Legislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business

What would we like to see in you?

  • Strong trading skills with experience in developing broker accounts to achieve profitable growth.
  • Underwriting knowledge, specifically with previous experience in Commercial Combined
  • Motivated, driven and adapts to change, positively displaying a can do attitude.
  • Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Demonstrates a keenness to undertake professional insurance qualifications
  • Passionate about own development within the insurance industry
  • The ability to assess and analyse data accurately and effectively
  • The ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • The ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals.
  • The ability to demonstrate good relationship management skills
  • The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives
  • An awareness of the market and legal/industry developments
