Draughtsperson

We are looking for a Draughtsperson to join our team within Score Group working out of our Peterhead facility.

About the role

The Individual should have the ability to liaise with and support both the Engineering and workshop departments in order to design new components using Autocad & Solidworks modelling software.

They should also have the ability to carry out supervisory duties in the event that the Drawing Office Team leader and Deputy are unavailable.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
• Accurately take measurements of mechanical components within the workshop areas.
• Produce Detailed Engineering Drawings to the required standard using Autocad.
• Assist and support other members of the Drawing Office and Engineering Teams.
• Provide supervisory cover in the absence of the departmental Team Leader and Deputy.
• May be required to attend Production meetings when necessary, and provide Job status feedback to other Production Team Leaders at these meetings.
• Work to their ability / capacity to meet priority deadlines and ensure that other team members are also meeting these priority deadlines.
• Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standard of quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) Qualification in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical).

Experience

• The Individual should have experience in a workshop and/or Drawing Office environment.
• Problem solving and engineering experience is also advantageous.
• They should have a good working knowledge and understanding of engineering practices and be familiar with workshop/manufacturing processes, and ideally have relevant experience in dimensional checking of mechanical components.

Behaviours and skills

• The Individual should also have the ability to produce detailed drawings using Autocad, Inventor or Solidworks software.
