Thinktank Academy are a national provider that specialises in Residential Childcare apprenticeships.

In this role you will lead in the support and case load management of Learning and Development Coaches and input into the service design of the apprenticeship curriculum and delivery models.

In addition, there may be specific curriculum design projects commissioned by partners/clients in relation to course/programme development and overseeing IQA/standardisation of high-quality curriculum delivery.


Duties include.

  • Ofsted Lead Nominee
  • Have a detailed understanding of ThinkTank's provision and preparation for Ofsted inspections
  • This includes the coordination and management of inspections
  • Performance management/caseload review of Learning and Development Coaches in line with our performance management framework and key performance indicators.
  • Building and updating apprenticeship programmes delivery models and content i.e., workshop creation/learning activities, resource development with an emphasis on quality. Working with team of LDCs to develop high quality resources.
  • Implementing 'best practice' approach to building high quality programmes within the Aptem LMS system.
  • Producing engaging, immersive curriculum resources that enhance the learner experience.
  • Working in the implementation of a standardised approach to curriculum development in areas such as lesson plans and schemes of work.
  • Implement a standardisation and observation of teaching and learning strategy.
  • Underpin and integrate key themes such as Functional Skills, Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and Equality and Diversity in a contextualised manner throughout programme design.
  • Take ownership of the continued development of the programmes alongside LDCs. This through curriculum enhancement and curriculum content development. For example, contextualised scenario's, observations, and experiences.
  • Build a rapport and liaise with employers/partners in the development of branded, bespoke programmes. This may be on behalf of our training division or on a commercial basis with partners.
  • Input and coordinate learner/employer forums, insight surveys to enhance curriculum and programme.
  • Facilitate training sessions with coaches/partners in relation to curriculum/programme build and best practice in curriculum design and standardisation
  • Internal Quality Assurance of coaches' work, including IQA of qualifications in line with agreed IQA strategy.
  • Providing leadership and CPD support to all coaches in the commitment to high quality training programmes and curriculum.
  • Creation of any supporting documentation for the business, including curriculum resources, as required.
  • The role requires demonstrable experience in:
  • Educational (apprenticeships) and or teaching/training knowledge to understand EPA and assessment plans.
  • Understanding FE Education Inspection Framework and role of lead nominee and responsibilities
  • High level of skills in digital resource creation using a range of programmes/formats.
  • A confident and clear communicator (at all levels) capable of inspiring, imparting knowledge as well as conveying and contextualising experiences at suitable levels.
  • Ability to communicate with employers across different levels and functions i.e., operations managers and LDCs.
  • Understanding assessment plans and how to support apprentices to aim for distinction at EPA.
  • Using a range of systems and technology effectively.
  • Evidenced level of Maths and English and to be able to integrate this element into the programme at suitable opportunities.
  • The role will require (this can be developed or supported)
  • Understanding of the Education Inspection Framework, Ofsted Inspections and how this is measured and monitored.
  • Occupational expertise and updating sector expertise in the residential childcare setting.
  • Keeping CPD updated especially in areas such as programme content/resources best practice and innovation in styles and techniques.
  • Able to utilise virtual learning and remote learning platforms effectively.
  • Preparing for and being involved in OFSTED inspections and ESFA audits.
  • Managing and working with Quality assurance teams, and coaches in the curriculum enhancement/support/IQA and standardisation.
