EMEA ICAAP and Regulatory Stress Testing Team

The EMEA ICAAP and Regulatory Stress Testing team is part of the Regulatory Policy team within the Regulatory Controllers department in the EMEA Finance division.

Regulatory Controllers ensure that Goldman Sachs' UK and European entities have enough capital to fulfill their obligations and withstand risks such as Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, and others assessed in our ICAAPs.


The ICAAP and Regulatory Stress Testing team focuses on:

  • Coordinating the EMEA entities' Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAPs)
  • Managing the EBA stress test and providing advice to EMEA entities on ICAAPs
  • Analyzing and staying up-to-date with regulatory developments related to ICAAP and stress testing regulations
  • Supporting the Regulatory Policy team with interpretations, transaction analysis, and advice

The Role


This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include overseeing the UK entities' ICAAPs, improving processes to maintain sufficient capital, collaborating with various stakeholders, and staying informed on relevant regulations.

Additionally, the role involves assessing regulatory changes and contributing to the firm's approach in implementing these evolving requirements.


As part of the Regulatory Controllers team, the candidate will be involved in various tasks beyond the ICAAP, including policy analysis and advocacy related to Capital Resources, RWA, and Leverage ratio.


Principal Responsibilities


ICAAP

  • Coordinating UK ICAAPs for broker-dealers, banks, asset managers, and UK regulated groups
  • Adapting processes based on regulatory changes affecting the ICAAP
  • Developing and executing ICAAP project plan
  • Supporting the UK capital and stress test steering group
  • Preparing ICAAP documentation for regulators
  • Providing advice to EMEA teams on producing ICAAPs for GS entities outside the UK and Germany

Advocacy


  • Evaluating new regulatory changes from various regulators
  • Communicating regulatory developments with internal stakeholders
  • Contributing to global advocacy approaches
  • Assessing the impact of new regulations on the firm

Interpretation


  • Interpreting EU and UK rules and policies
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop solutions
  • Providing transaction advice based on regulations
  • Keeping updated on other regulatory changes


Experience & Qualifications


  • Prior experience in ICAAP is essential
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA) is a plus
  • Functional Expertise: Understanding of Regulatory Reporting, preferably EU & UK requirements
  • Regulatory knowledge: familiarity with regulatory capital rules, IRB, VaR, Leverage Ratio, Basel standards, CRD IV & V
  • Project management and organizational skills
