At The Spinney, you will work 37.5 hours a week, preparing daily meals for various individuals. Your role will involve not only food preparation but also providing guidance and training to your colleagues.
One of the highlights of this position is the diverse calendar of activities and events that you will cater for, including World Food Day, Christmas, Easter, and more. You'll have the freedom to add your own creative touch and keep things interesting.

As a Chef at The Spinney, you will:- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Maintain excellent food storage and stock rotation practices.
- Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a high standard considering dietary requirements.
- Serve food and beverages professionally to users, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in catering for conferences and banquets.
- Ensure effective cost control and food costings.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Take full responsibility for the catering operation during shifts.
- Assist in creating new menus and upholding quality standards.
- Ensure proper documentation related to food safety systems.
To succeed in this role, you must be 18 or older, possess relevant qualifications, have prior experience in a similar setting, and demonstrate proficiency in menu planning and budget management.
Location:The Spinney facility is located at Everest Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9NT. It offers a variety of care services for male patients with personality disorders and mental illnesses.
You will collaborate with a dedicated team at The Spinney, known for their positive impact in secure care environments and interventions.
