You would join existing part time band 7 Clinical Specialist Speech & Language therapists, who have national reputations in the field of dementia care and will encourage your development through in-service and external CPD opportunities.

Alongside a band 5 rotational Speech & Language therapist and various multi-disciplinary support staff.


Our services include wards based at Millbrook Mental Health Unit and Highbury Hospital, and community teams based at Lings Bar Hospital (in West Bridgford), Highbury Hospital (in Bulwell) and Byron House (in Newark).

Base can be flexible.


The role requires clinical and professional expertise in order that those with communication and/or dysphagia needs benefit from a well-co-ordinated, interdisciplinary, pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective Speech and Language Therapy Service within the mental health and dementia wards and within the community dementia service and those living with the language led dementias.

You would be responsible for specialist SLT assessment and diagnosis, personalised intervention and management, advice and coaching as appropriate.

You will have responsibility for the SLT intervention within your setting. You will identify and advise around service needs and trends and together with your senior colleagues, you will support your team with professional advice and training as required
