We have established partnerships with primary schools to provide aspiring Teaching Assistants with training and paid experience.

The role of a Teaching Assistant is both diverse and rewarding.

You will have the chance to work with children who have a variety of Special Educational Needs, such as Autism, ADHD, SLCN, and PD.

Prior knowledge in one or more of these areas would be advantageous.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the class teacher in documenting and reporting on student progress and behavior, as well as helping ensure that children are making positive strides in the classroom.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to support teachers in delivering high-quality education, inspire student learning, and contribute to their personal and academic development.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Unqualified Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Classroom Support: Demonstrate the ability to provide effective support to the classroom teacher, including assisting with lesson preparation, delivering small group activities, and providing one-to-one support to students as needed.
  • Behaviour Management: Have knowledge of behaviour management strategies and the ability to implement them consistently to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and parents. The ability to listen attentively, give clear instructions, and provide feedback is essential.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to work in different classrooms or with different students as required. Demonstrate the ability to adjust teaching approaches and strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, other teaching assistants, and support staff to promote a cohesive and productive learning environment. The ability to establish positive relationships and contribute to a team dynamic is important.
  • Safeguarding: Have a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, and a commitment to always ensuring the wellbeing and safety of students.
  • Professionalism: Exhibit professionalism and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role. Uphold high standards of behaviour and ethics and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
