You will also develop and maintain business capabilities across Interpham in line with thecompany strategy. You will contribute to the development of business strategy and plans,assessing projects in line with the architectural framework and making recommendations tooptimise business and customer value through change approaches. You will establish principlesand governing policies, and use this to develop capabilities and recommendations for change.

This is a hands-on role and will require the creation and maintenance of key BusinessArchitecture artefacts including business models, business process maps and capabilitydefinitions.

Responsibilities Business Design

The Business Architect plays a key role in ensuring 'architectural thinking' is embeddedacross the business. Working closely with the technical and solutions architect theyuse all architectural artefacts (process, capabilities, data, systems etc) to identifysynergies and optimise value through change design:

Develop business design models based on a situational awareness of various businessscenarios and motivations, including the creation of customer journeys and value maps.

Apply a structured business design approach and methodology for capturing the high-levelviews of the business unit and customer needs in the context of the strategic goals.

Pull together disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate their relevanceto the organisation and to high level business issues through analysis, making designrecommendations to drive maximum value.

Identify structural issues within the organisation, functional dependencies and cross-siloredundancies, and design better ways of working.

Act as a bridge between the business and IT, translating businessrequirements to IT and understand and manage data conflicts with the business.

Assess proposed projects/business problems against architectural blueprints to optimiseboth business and customer value and ensure architectural alignment is maintained.

Work closely with Technology to align technical solutions with business needs.

Deliver high-level design approaches to address business problems in line with the business architecture.

Support the development of business cases and benefit qualification, ensuringstrategic fit and clear drivers

Reference Architecture

Develop a business architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of various businessscenarios and motivations

Maintain and develop the business capability reference model, mapping capability functionalityto other architectural artefacts e.g. data architecture, application architecture

Keep business architecture alive and current as a body of knowledge

Assess current capability maturity and promote activities to develop capabilitiesand close gaps e.g. local action plans in place owned by business units

Engage at project level to communicate the architecture and promote the project's alignment with it

Translate strategic initiatives into delivery focussed change initiatives

Explore efficiency/effectiveness and value add opportunities through interrogationof the business architecture and the change portfolio and use this to inform strategicplanning processes

Stakeholder management and Influencing

Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally andexternally at all levels, and influence the approach to howthe both Velonetic and the Market approach change

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the business challenges Velonetic faces,the drivers for change and use this to design and recommend new ways of working

Be recognised as a key contributor to business transformation and embedding ofthe business architecture

Skills

Ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected information and articulate their collective relevance

Ability to diagnose structural issues within the organisation and formulate recommendation to redress

Ability to create high level models and information rich diagrams to drive business improvement

Ability to listen to and resolve customer issues whilst preserving positive relationships

Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relayinformation clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications to both internaland external stakeholders

Good people skills in frequently creating and maintaining relationships with varioustypes of individuals within the business and at different levels

Ability to influence change in a positive manner across all levels of the organisation

Ability to use all Microsoft packages as an advanced user

Experience

Sound understanding of Business Architecture principles

Experience of developing business strategies and translating them into actionable plans

Senior business analyst background with experience in designing business solutionsin line with blueprints and target operating models

Demonstrable experience of applying design thinking

Experience developing, visualizing and utilising high level models as required to collect,aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information and provide analysis to createa better future state

Experience across multiple functions, particularly in areas of product development and automation

Proven experience in operating at both a strategic and tactical level
