Learning Support Administrative Assistant

We seek an enthusiastic and motivated Administrative Assistant for the Learning Support department to deliver all aspects of administration. The Learning Support department in the senior school consists of three qualified teachers; the Head of Learning Support and two SEN teachers who support pupils and students through years 7 to 13, together with a group of experienced teaching assistants who work across KS3 and KS4. It is a kind, friendly and dynamic department that works closely together to support the roughly 250 students on the SEND register.

The hours are 8.30am to 2.30pm including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break (flexibility around start and finish times will be considered), 5 days per week in term-time. The annual salary is £18,759.

Personal Specification:

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.

· Flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.

The key areas of responsibility are:

o Managing the referral system for SEND pupils which involves:

Fielding incoming referrals from parents, pupils or staff. Sending out staff questionnaires. Collating all responses for an assessment decision by Head of Learning Support. Updating the SEN Tracker app. accordingly. o Preparing Assessment packs for pupils once an assessment decision is reached. o Preparing Assessment packs for pupils being re-assessed in Year 9 and above. o Setting up Access Arrangements forms 8, 8RF and 9 online. o Updating SIMs with all changes to the Learning Support Register. o Setting up Pupil Profiles and publishing them to the Tracking System. o Assisting with setting up internal exams. o Assisting with administration of EHCP students which could include: Arranging meeting with external agencies.Arranging annual reviews.Assisting with relevant document preparation. o Managing regular communication to parents by email. o Publishing relevant documentation on the school website. o Managing the communication of pre- and post-assessment notices to parents with link to SEN information report. o Data management – any other data management tasks as necessary. o Scheduling departmental meetings and taking minutes. o Preparing stationery orders. o Other administrative tasks as directed by the Head of Learning Support Benefits
