We are currently seeking a skilled Technical Retoucher to join our team

Job Summary: As a Technical Retoucher, your main focus will be ensuring that all artwork images are technically sound for the printing process. You will collaborate closely with Design and Artwork teams to efficiently set up images and avoid unnecessary rework. Your expertise in min & max dot, spot colour channels (DCS), and various print processes, combined with your passion for retouching and exceptional attention to detail, will be crucial in this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing your workload effectively and meeting deadlines in our fast-paced studio environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle new US retouching tasks and support EU creative projects.
  • Enhance colour profile processes in collaboration with the Global Production Director.
  • Create precise and creative images within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Ensure that all imagery aligns with printer profiles and print process requirements.
  • Generate spot colour channels as necessary.
  • Utilize GMG proofing devices for accurate colour representation.
  • Manage product imagery, retouching, and compositing effectively.
  • Perform colour adjustments and produce natural-looking images.
  • Efficiently handle a high volume of work while meeting all brief specifications.
  • Coordinate with account managers regarding image particulars.
  • Maintain a high level of file structure standards.
  • Provide support for repro responsibilities and PQM processes when required.
  • Identify appropriate software solutions for technical retouching purposes.
  • Establish technical proofing procedures for the international team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical retouching.
  • Prior experience in FMCG packaging retouching.
  • Demonstrated passion for retouching and imagery enhancement.
  • Proficiency in compositing ingredients and desktop colour separation (DCS).
  • Understanding of min and max dot requirements and various print processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Creative Suite and MAC platforms.
  • Familiarity with colour manipulation, correction, and the impact of printing on images.
  • Portfolio exhibiting high-quality retouching work and intricate colour adjustments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Experience working with digital photography is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of mid dot percentages and printer ink limitations is a bonus.
